From our founding over 30 years ago, QuestBridge has always been an organization focused on creating opportunities for high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds, regardless of race, geography, or academic interest. Since our inception to today, no preference is given based on any protected characteristics (i.e., race, ethnicity, or gender). We recognize that students of all backgrounds may face long-term financial and circumstantial obstacles to higher education.
You can learn more about our selection criteria by reviewing our profile of students who have had success with QuestBridge programs in the past year.
QuestBridge is looking for exceptionally talented high school students who come from low-income backgrounds. We take a holistic approach by reviewing a student’s entire application and then deciding if they would be a good fit for our program. Generally, they:
- Are U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, and international students currently attending high school in the U.S. International students attending school outside the U.S., including those attending a U.S.-based online school, are not eligible to apply.
- Earn primarily A's in the most challenging courses offered and demonstrate strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity.
- Come from a household earning less than $65,000 annually (for a household of four members) with minimal assets.
- Demonstrate resilience, integrity, and motivation to succeed.
