A dean is the head of a specific administrative area in the college, such as faculty or students. The Dean of Students can help with all sorts of topics that impact your college experience, such as questions about campus climate, accessing accommodations, or dealing with a family or financial emergency. Since many deans are former or current professors, they are usually very familiar with college life and can be a great source of advice and even mentorship. Deans may hold events to get to know students, and we encourage you to attend!
