What qualifies a student as "high-achieving" or academically "outstanding"?

College Prep Scholars are motivated students who challenge themselves by taking and excelling in their high school's most rigorous courses. We look at many different factors when assessing a student's academics, including grades, class rank, high school courses taken, standardized test scores, teacher recommendation, and other markers of talent and motivation.
